Kobbari karam


Ingredients:

  • Dry coconut powder - 1 cup
  • Channa dal - 1/2 cup
  • Urad dal - 1/2 cup
  • Peanuts - 1/4 cup
  • Dhania - 2 tbsp
  • Jeera - 2 tsp
  • Garlic - 8-10
  • Turmeric - 1/4 tsp
  • Oil - 1 tbsp
  • Curry leaves - few
  • Red chillis - 10
  • Salt to taste

Method:

  • Heat oil in a heavy bottomed vessel and roast the dals, peanuts, dhania, jeera and dry red chillis in a pan on low heat till light brown. All the ingredeints should be fried separately. Remove and cool.
  • In the same vessel add coconut powder and roast on low heat for 3-4 minutes. Dont add any more oil to roast the coconut powder
  • Grind these fried ingredients along with garlic, cloves, turmeric and salt in a blender to make powder

  • Store in an air tight container

  • Serve with dosa, idli and white rice with ghee
