Maida Biscuits


Ingredients:

  • Maida -3 cups
  • Ghee - 1 tbsp
  • Jeera - 2 tsp
  • Chilli powder - 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying
  • Warm water
Method:

  • Mix maida, chilli powder, salt, jeera and ghee in a large bowl
  • Add warm water little by little to the above mixture to make a soft dough. Cover the dough and leave it for 20-30 minutes
  • Take piece of above dough and roll into thick large chappati
  • Cut this chappati using a knife by drawing a number of parallel and diagonal lines to cut into diamond shaped peices (You may choose any desired shape)
  • Heat oil in a pan and deep fry the diamonds into golden brown color
  • Spread these hot biscuits in a paper towel to remove excess oil
  • Allow them to cool and store it in an air-tight container
