Dalia Chutney


Ingredients:

  • Dalia - 1 cup (Veyinchina senagapappu)
  • Coriander leaves - 2-3 stems
  • Tamarind paste - 1 tbsp
  • Ginger garlic paste - 2 tsp
  • Shredded coconut - ½ Cup
  • Green chilies - 6 small
For Seasoning:

  • Urad dal - 1 ½ tsp
  • Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
  • Cumin seeds - ½ tsp
  • Dry red chilli - 2
  • Turmeric - 1/4 tsp
  • Hing - pinch
  • Curry leaves - 5-6
  • Oil - 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
Method:

  • Grind dhalia, shredded coconut, coriander leaves, tamarind, ginger garlic paste, green chilies with out adding water first
  • Now add enough water and grind it to smooth paste
  • Transfer the chutney to a bowl
  • Heat a tbsp of oil, add urad dal, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, dry red chillies, tumeric, curry leaves, hing and fry for few seconds
  • Pour the seasoning on the top of the chutney and mix well
  • Serve with idli, dosa and upma
