Atukula Attu (Poha Dosa)

Ingredients:
  • Poha - 1 cup
  • Rice - 2 cups
  • Sour butter milk - 3 cups
  • Fenugreek seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Baking soda - 1/4 tsp
  • Onion - 1
  • Green chilli -3
  • Ginger - small piece
  • Jeera - 2 tbsp
  • Coriander leaves - few
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil
Method:
  • Wash rice and poha and drain water
  • Soak rice and fenugreek seeds in water over night
  • Soak poha in seperate bowl with buttermilk for 1-2 hrs
  • Grind them together into a very smooth batter without adding much water. The batter should be comparatively thicker than the usual dosa batter. Add salt and baking soda to the batter and keep it in a warm place for fermentation for about 8- 10 hours
  • After fermentation the batter will rise
  • Slice onions, green chilli and ginger into small pieces
  • Place Dosa pan on a stove at medium heat
  • Pour a laddle full of batter and quickly spread it around in circular motion till you get slightly thick Dosa
  • Sprinkle cut onion and jeera on Dosa and pour some oil around it. Flip it after bubbling spots appear
