Saggubiyyam Murukku (Sago murukku)




Ingredients:

  • Rice flour - 3 cups

  • Besan flour - 1 cup

  • Roasted split Bengal-gram Dal - 1 cup

  • Saggubiyyam(sabudana)-1 cup

  • Jeera -1 tbsp

  • Chilli powder

  • Salt to taste

  • Butter - 3 tbsp

  • Oil for frying


Method:

  • Soak sabudana in water for 2 hours. Drain and keep aside.

  • Grind split bengal gram dal into a fine powder

  • In a mixing bowl mix all the ingredients together by adding enough water

  • Finally the batter should be like soft chapathi dough

  • Take little of the dough and fill into the murukku mould

  • Heat oil and press the muruku into hot oil and deep fry both sides until crisp

  • Remove as soon as it is crisp and drain the excess oil on a paper towel
