Ingredients:
- Senaga pappu (Bengal gram dal) - 1/2 cup
- Grated coconut - 1/2 cup
- Tamarind - small piece
- Red chillies - 2-3
- Oil - 1 tsp
- Salt to taste
For seasoning
- Urad dal - 1 tsp
- Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
- Cumin seeds - 1/4 tsp
- Red chillies - 1
- Turmeric - 1/4 tsp
- Hing - pinch
- Oil - 1 tbsp
- Curry leaves - few
Method:
- Fry red chillies, senaga pappu in 1tsp oil till you get good aroma. Allow to cool.
- Grind red chillies, senaga pappu, grated coconut, tamarind and salt.
- Add little water and grind to chutney consistency
- Heat a tbsp of oil, add urad dal, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, dry red chillies, tumeric, curry leaves, hing and fry for few seconds
- Pour the seasoning on the top of the chutney and mix well
- Serve with Idli, Dosa and Upma
